WSO2 integration in Kenya for APIs, payments, core banking and ERP

We connect the systems you run on: WSO2 API Manager and Micro Integrator for governed APIs and orchestration, mobile money across Africa, banks with open APIs, payment gateways, core banking, Odoo and KRA eTIMS.

What this practice covers

APIs you can govern and publish

WSO2 API Manager puts OAuth2 security, throttling and a developer portal in front of your services, so partners subscribe, get keys and call your APIs within limits you set.

Orchestration without rewriting the core

WSO2 Micro Integrator transforms messages and runs multi-step flows, so a legacy SOAP or core-banking interface can serve modern apps and partners without being rebuilt.

Payments that reconcile

M-Pesa Daraja collections and payouts, other mobile money, banks with open APIs and payment gateways, built with callbacks, status checks and reconciliation from the start.

Your ERP in the loop

Odoo and other ERPs connected to payments, eTIMS and your other systems, so invoices, stock and receipts are never typed twice.

Published, verified and documented

We have published a payment gateway's APIs through WSO2 API Manager, with a separate API for each audience and runbooks for the team that operates it.

How we can work together

WSO2 integration

WSO2 API Manager and Micro Integrator designed, deployed and configured for your APIs, partners and back-end systems, with runbooks and handover. Scoped after discovery.

Odoo ERP

Odoo implementation or migration configured for Kenya, with KRA eTIMS, statutory payroll, and mobile money and bank reconciliation set up inside the system, handed over with training.

From KES 600,000

Odoo support retainer

Monthly support hours, version updates and statutory changes for KRA, SHIF, NSSF and Housing Levy, from a team that already knows your setup.

From KES 35,000/month

Where projects actually stall

Most systems projects do not fail inside a system. They fail between systems: the payment that never reaches the ledger, the partner who waits months for an API, the branch whose invoices never reach KRA, the core banking interface nobody dares touch.

Integration is the work we have done since 2017, across banking, payments, ERP and identity in East Africa. It is also what makes our AI agents and fraud monitoring useful: neither is better than the data it can reach.

What we connect

  • WSO2 API Manager and Micro Integrator. A gateway that secures, throttles and documents your APIs, a developer portal for partners, and orchestration that turns legacy interfaces into clean APIs. See WSO2 API and integration.
  • M-Pesa Daraja. STK Push collections, Paybill (C2B) payments matched to the right account, and B2C payouts, with status checks for callbacks that arrive late or never.
  • Other mobile money and banks. Other mobile money services across Africa, such as Airtel Money and MTN MoMo, and banks with open APIs connect the same way through their own APIs; where there is no API, bank statements are imported.
  • Payment gateways and core banking. Integration through the interfaces your vendors support, following your change process, without modifying the core.
  • Odoo and other ERPs. We implement Odoo for Kenyan businesses and connect other ERPs through their APIs. See Odoo ERP.
  • KRA eTIMS. eTIMS set up in Odoo for every branch, including stock records. See KRA eTIMS compliance.

WSO2 API Manager in Kenya, done properly

A gateway is only as safe as what sits behind it. When we put WSO2 API Manager in front of a service, we settle three things first:

  1. Who is calling. Each audience, such as partners, customers’ browsers and callback providers, gets its own API and its own credentials, so one cannot reach another’s endpoints.
  2. What the back end trusts. The service verifies the gateway’s signed token rather than trusting a header, so a misrouted request is still refused.
  3. What is never published. Internal and administrative routes stay off the gateway entirely.

Licensing and support subscriptions are agreed between you and WSO2. We explain the options during discovery, and the platform we build is yours.

How an integration runs

  1. Discovery. The systems, the people and partners who call them, and your security and availability requirements.
  2. Design. Interfaces, data mappings, security and error handling agreed before code is written.
  3. Build and test. In your environments, with your teams, including the failure cases. For independent integration testing and automated regression suites, see QA & Testing.
  4. Hand over. Runbooks, training and, if you want one, a support plan.

For core banking, digital channels and eKYC, see financial technology.
